May Madness Continues With New $25,000 Contribution – Following The Money Key To 58th Assembly District Race

by: Leo Briones

Downey, CA–  May Madness continues in the 58th Assembly District with the new late contribution report filed by Working Californians Against Corruption.  This time the California Teamsters Public Affairs Council, Public Affairs has moved $25,000 to the new Super PAC created to attack one member of the State Assembly.

This $25,000 transfer of member money brings the grand total moved so far to $425,000.  The rapid transfer of political money from building trades locals to the deceptively entitled Working Californians Against Corruption since April 25, 2018 include:

Contributor Amount Date
California Teamsters Public Affairs Council, Public Affairs $25,000.00 5/7/2018
Southern California Pipe Trades District Council #16 Political Action Committee $50,000.00 5/4/2018
District Council Of Iron Workers Political Action League $50,000.00 5/4/2018
International Union Of Operating Engineers $25,000.00 5/1/2018
Los Angeles / Orange Counties Building And Construction Trades Council $25,000.00 5/1/2018
International Brotherhood Of Boilermakers, Iron Ship Builders, Blacksmiths, Forgers & Helpers Local 549 Pac $25,000.00 4/30/2018
State Building And Construction Trades Council Of California Pac Small Contributor Committee $100,000.00 4/30/2018

State Building And Construction Trades Council Of California Independent Expenditure Pac $50,000.00 4/25/2018
Total $425,000.00

The question that must be asked is what is the real reason for this attack by one specific special interest group outside the 58th Assembly District on Assemblywoman Garcia?
