May Madness Continues With Charter Schools Joining Attack On Assemblywoman Garcia’s Support For Justice And Equality

Downey, CA–  May Madness continues in the 58th Assembly District with filings of new late contribution reports by Working Californians Against Corruption that demonstrate that the charter school industry has now joined the State Building and Construction Trades Council of California in this direct attack on Assemblywoman Garcia’s unwavering commitment to justice and equality.

In new filings by the Super PAC Working Californians Against Corruption, the Families and Teachers United, Sponsored by California Charter Schools Association Advocates, made a direct contribution of $12,456.56.  In addition, the same Family and Teachers United, Sponsored by California Charter Schools Association Advocates filed a Form 496 Late Independent Expenditure Report stating an additional independent expenditure of $100,000 against Assemblywoman Garcia.

With these two actions, the California Charter Schools Association Advocates are seeking to join the politically motivated attacks of the State Building and Construction Trades Council with the shocking movement of over $600,000 against one single member of the State Assembly.

“I think we can all agree now that with the movement of over $100,000 in campaign money by the charter school industry, in coordination with the leadership of the State Building and Construction Trades Council of California, that this entire attack on Assemblywoman Garcia has always been about her record of fighting for the communities she represents in the 58th Assembly District.  The groups attacking her clearly care more about profits than people.” expressed campaign spokesperson William Schlitz.

The question that must be asked of these groups joining together in a historic attack on one member of the State Assembly is why do they continue to hide their real reason for attacking Assemblywoman Garcia?
